Description: "The Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Society (SAFSS) is a Trent University student levy group. Our mission is to create a community-oriented environment at Trent University where students can learn and share their experiences related to food production and distribution, and thereby deepen their understanding of sustainable agriculture. In the hopes of promoting this, SAFSS has created and managed the Trent Market Garden (TMG), a three-acre market garden and experiential learning site located on Trent’s Experimental Farm. As a working group of SAFSS, this student-run social enterprise utilizes agro-ecological farming practices in order to facilitate the growth of quality produce on campus and the greater Peterborough community."
